It was great to be at the Council‑Led Housing Network event last week, with Nicola Tilbury attending on our behalf. Potter Raper has been closely involved with Future of London for several years, contributing to leadership development, mentoring, expert panels, and training designed to strengthen borough development teams across the capital.
Our partnership with Future of London spans multiple programmes and initiatives, including the Making the Most of… series, the Leaders Programme, the Housing Development Academy, and a range of specialist workshops. Through these activities, we’ve supported hundreds of public‑sector professionals to build confidence, capability, and practical skills across the development lifecycle. This long‑standing involvement reflects our commitment to helping boroughs deliver high‑quality, sustainable homes and resilient neighbourhoods.
Last week’s event marked the start of the Council‑Led Housing Network’s renewed three‑year mandate, following the Greater London Authority’s continued support for council‑led housebuilding. It brought together colleagues from across London who are committed to improving the capacity, confidence, and collaboration needed to deliver homes for local communities. The discussions highlighted shared challenges, from viability pressures to building safety requirements, and the importance of cross‑sector partnerships in navigating an increasingly complex development landscape.
Nicola also contributed to Future of London’s recent article on the GLA’s renewed backing for the Network, offering reflections on the opportunities ahead:
