Project update: Eastwood South, Roehampton

Works are progressing on the Eastwood South development in Roehampton, where we are providing multi-discipline services on behalf of Wandsworth Borough Council. Life Build Solutions Ltd has been appointed as Principal Contractor.

About the project

The scheme involves the demolition of 33 existing garages on the Eastwood Estate and the design and construction of new residential homes in their place. The development includes:

  • New residential homes on previously underused urban land.
  • Passivhaus certification target.
  • PV panels and EV charging points.
  • New boundary treatments and landscaping.
  • Utility connections including UKPN, Thames Water and BT Openreach.

Latest progress

Following demolition of the existing garage structures and slab, piling works commenced in April 2026 and are progressing well. The project team is working through planning condition discharges, with conditions submitted covering materials, landscaping, ecology, EV charging points, external lighting, refuse strategy, boundary treatment and dust monitoring.

Design work is well advanced, with mechanical and electrical sub-contractor designs issued and under review, PV panel designs being developed, and Passivhaus and thermal-bridging details being progressed with specialist consultants Beyond Carbon and Stroma.

Our role

We are providing Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveying services throughout the programme, including contract administration, valuations and cost monitoring. Our Clerk of Works is carrying out regular site inspections to monitor quality and progress.

We are also providing CDM Principal Designer and Building Regulations Principal Designer (BRPD) Advisory services, supporting the contractor team to ensure compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and the Building Safety Act 2022.
