We’re thrilled to announce that Sunspot, also known as the Jaywick Sands Commercial Development, has been shortlisted for the RIBA East Awards 2025!
This follows previous recognition, including:
- Best Use of Brownfield Land in Placemaking – Planning Awards 2024
- Highly Commended – MacEwen Award 2023
- Named one of Rowan Moore’s Top 5 Architecture Projects of 2023 – The Guardian
Completed in September 2023, the project plays a key role in the Jaywick Sands Place Plan, delivering affordable business units, a covered market, café, public toilets, meeting rooms, a community garden, bus shelter, and event space. Commissioned by Tendring District Council and designed by HAT Projects, Sunspot stands as a new landmark, bringing essential jobs and services to an area long facing economic challenges.
