Celebrating Pride Month at Potter Raper

Each year, Pride Month gives us an opportunity to pause, reflect, and reaffirm what we stand for, not just as a business, but as a community of people who care about the world we’re helping to build.

At Potter Raper, our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion is not a seasonal statement. It is woven into the way we work, the culture we nurture, and the spaces we help to create. As an employee-owned, multi-discipline consultancy working across public and private sectors, we know that the best outcomes for our clients, our communities, and our colleagues come from environments where every voice is heard and every person feels valued.

Representation matters in the built environment
The construction and property sector has long faced challenges around diversity and inclusion. We believe that consultancies like ours have a responsibility to do better, not only within our own teams, but in the wider industry conversations we are part of and the projects we deliver.

From the earliest stages of a project through to completion, the decisions made by construction professionals shape the places where people live, work, and spend their lives. Those decisions are better when they are informed by a breadth of perspectives and a genuine commitment to inclusion.
What this means for us day to day

As an Employee Ownership Trust, Potter Raper is a company built on the principle that people matter. Our employee-owners share in the success of the business and have a genuine stake in its future, and that sense of shared responsibility extends to the culture we build together.

In practice, our commitment to inclusion means:

  • Championing inclusive practices across our workplaces and on site
  • Listening and delivering through open, honest conversations at every level of the business
  • Supporting a culture where every person, regardless of background, identity, or experience, can thrive and progress
  • Shaping spaces that reflect and respect the diverse communities we have the privilege to serve

This month, and every month
Pride Month is a time to celebrate, to stand in solidarity, and to recommit to the work of building a more inclusive industry. At Potter Raper, that commitment does not begin in June and end in July. It is part of who we are as a firm and what we aspire to be year-round, project by project, person by person.
Together, we are building not just better buildings, but a better culture. We are Potter Raper. We Listen. Solve. Deliver.
