What B Corp™ certification means
Potter Raper meets B Lab’s™ integrated social, environmental and governance standards. This embeds our purpose and plans for positive impact in our company values, so that we’re aware of our impact on people and the planet.
B Corp™ certification is administered by B Lab™ and independently verified by a third party. To achieve certification, businesses must complete the B Impact Assessment and reach a minimum score of 80 out of 200, measured across five key impact areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers. Certified businesses also commit to demonstrating continued improvement over time, rather than treating certification as a one-off achievement.
As part of certifying, businesses make a legal commitment to their purpose, embedding consideration of people and planet, not just shareholders, into their governing documents. For an Employee Ownership Trust like Potter Raper, this formalises something that was already part of how we’re structured and gives us a clear framework for developing our values even further.
