Solar PV and battery storage taking shape at Wexham Park and Heatherwood Hospitals

We are providing Quantity Surveying and Project Management services to Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust on the installation of rooftop solar PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS) across Wexham Park and Heatherwood Hospitals, with Vital Energi appointed as contractor.

Commissioning under way

At Heatherwood, the commissioning programme has been issued, with final G99 inspection, witnessing and training now complete. Subject to sign-off, the solar PV arrays can be switched on.

At Wexham Park, car park works including white lining are complete, and the team is progressing towards a G99 inspection date ahead of issuing a commissioning programme for that site.

Supporting the NHS’s sustainability ambitions

The scheme will reduce the Trust’s reliance on grid electricity and lower its carbon footprint, combining rooftop solar generation with battery storage to maximise the use of the energy produced on site. Throughout delivery, we continue to project regular cost reporting and valuations to maintain programme certainty.

Looking ahead

With commissioning progressing at both hospitals, the project is moving steadily towards full handover. We will continue to provide cost control and project oversight through to completion, supporting Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust in delivering a resilient and genuinely sustainable estate.
