We are delighted that Lexden Gardens Phase 1 has been shortlisted for the Essex Housing Awards, taking place on 5th November, in two categories:

• Large Housing Schemes (101+ homes) – entered by Essex County Council
• Inclusive Growth and Social Value – entered by Kind & Co

Delivered for Essex Housing and designed by Chetwoods, Phase 1 comprises the design, construction, conversion and refurbishment of the former Essex County Hospital site on Lexden Road, Colchester, providing 63 high quality new homes. The development sensitively restores the Grade II listed hospital building, combining heritage conservation with contemporary residential design to create a vibrant new community.

We are proud to have supported the project as Quantity Surveyor, Project Manager and CDM – Principal Designer, providing project leadership, commercial management and health and safety coordination throughout delivery under a Design and Build contract.
