Last week we welcomed Beau, grandson of one of our Directors, for Year 7’s Take Your Child to Work Day, organised by Imberhorne School in East Grinstead.

What Beau Got Up To

Beau spent the day finding out what life is really like in construction consultancy, getting an insight into the roles of a quantity surveyor, project manager and building surveyor. He sat in on meetings and even helped work through cost calculations for one of our live projects.

Supporting the Next Generation

Days like this matter to us. As an Employee Ownership Trust, investing in people is part of who we are, and that includes the next generation who might one day choose a career in our industry. Construction and surveying still aren’t always on young people’s radar as a career path, so getting the chance to show someone Beau’s age what the job actually involves, beyond the hard hat and hi-vis stereotype, is something we’re glad to support. We’re always keen to work with local schools on initiatives like this, and would welcome the chance to do more.
