A step forward for the Southwark Resource Centre
Work at the Southwark Resource Centre is progressing, with the project currently at RIBA Stage 3 as part of our appointment covering Stages 1 to 4 for the London Borough of Southwark.
The scheme focuses on enhancing the building’s reception and entrance spaces to create a clearer, more welcoming experience for visitors, while supporting the day-to-day operational needs of the centre.
Project Brief
The brief centres on the redesign of reception areas at both ground and first floor levels, alongside the creation of a new entrance lobby. The proposals carefully integrate existing architectural elements and retained flooring, ensuring continuity between the current building fabric and the future reception environment.
New reception desk layouts are being developed to improve functionality, accessibility and staff interaction, helping the space better serve its users.
Current Project Status
Planning has now been submitted, and the team is awaiting determination. Subject to approval, the project will progress to Building Control and explore potential tender opportunities.
Our Role
We are supporting the Southwark Resource Centre project through:

- Design development aligned with planning and regulatory requirements
Looking Ahead
Once delivered, the redesigned reception and entrance spaces will provide a clearer, more welcoming arrival experience, supporting the long-term use and accessibility of this important community facility.
