A massive congratulations to Simon Fowler, who is celebrating 25 incredible years with Potter Raper. Simon is an Associate Director and Senior Quantity Surveyor, working from our Colchester office, and brings over 25 years of experience in Quantity Surveying and Fund Monitoring services.
Since joining Potter Raper in 2000, Simon has become a cornerstone of our surveying team, contributing his expertise across a wide range of projects, from residential developments to major education, healthcare and commercial schemes. His career has been shaped not just by technical excellence, but also by his ability to build trusted relationships with clients, developers and financial institutions.
- Simon has extensive bank and fund monitoring experience providing risk analysis, ensuring viability and confidence in development delivery.
- He specialises in JCT and NEC Contracts, Tender Documentation, Bills of Quantities and the use of CostX.
- Simon plays a vital leadership role within the business, mentoring junior staff, instigating control processes, and ensuring clarity and high standards across every stage of a project.
- His career has spanned residential, commercial, and education developments, as well as complex schemes requiring financial oversight and sustainability considerations.
Career Highlights
Simon has worked on a number of significant projects, including:
- Lexden Gardens, Essex – £18.3m Design & Build for 63 dwellings on Phase 1 of the Former Essex County Hospital Site.
- Elwick Place, Ashford – £26.9m construction of a cinema warm shell, Travelodge Hotel, and associated car parking.
- Hanningfield Park – £33m construction of 92 new-build dwellings, including ground remediation.
- Admirals Farm Phases 1 to 6 – £28m construction of over 80 new build-dwellings
- Panfield Lane Phase 1 – £8.7m construction of 31 new build-dwelling (first phase of an 825-unit development)
