Progress Update: 75 Affordable Homes at Station Road, Rainham

We are providing Quantity Surveyor and Employer’s Agent services to Moat Homes on the delivery of 75 new homes at Station Road, Rainham, Kent. The scheme, comprising affordable rent and shared ownership units, is being delivered by Jenner (Contractors) Ltd under a JCT Design and Build contract, and includes new open space, landscaping and associated infrastructure.

Site Progress

Construction continues to advance across the site, with LABC building control inspections progressing well and no items currently outstanding. Sales plans and CGIs for Moat’s marketing material have now been finalised, and the shared ownership show home has been confirmed at plot 75 ahead of upcoming viewings. The team is also working closely with Medway Council on the S38 road adoption package for the estate’s new streets.

Sustainability and Community

The development has been designed with sustainability in mind, incorporating PV panels to the terraced homes and EV charging provision across the site. New open space and landscaping will provide a welcoming setting for residents, with communal areas to be maintained under an agreed estate management arrangement from practical completion.

Looking Ahead

With build quality closely monitored through regular LABC and client Clerk of Works inspections, the project team continues to work collaboratively to bring much needed affordable rent and shared ownership housing to Rainham.
