At Potter Raper, our mentors go beyond day-to-day guidance, they invest their time, knowledge, and energy into helping the next generation of surveyors and construction professionals grow into confident, capable team members.
Mentoring is a real commitment. From the very first day on the job through to the End-Point Assessment, our apprentices have someone in their corner, someone who understands both the demands of the role and the challenges of learning alongside it. Our mentors meet regularly with their apprentices, provide honest and constructive feedback, create meaningful learning opportunities, and act as a trusted point of contact throughout the programme.
At Potter Raper, we believe that great mentoring doesn’t happen by accident. That’s why we have developed a structured approach to support our mentors as much as our apprentices. Our mentors receive dedicated training, clear guidance on apprenticeship standards, and access to a peer support network so they can share ideas and best practice with one another.
As an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), investing in our people isn’t just good business practice, it’s central to who we are. Every member of the team has a stake in our success, and that sense of shared ownership makes our commitment to developing apprentices even more meaningful. When we invest in the next generation, we are investing in ourselves.
We are proud of the mentors who give their time and expertise to this process. They are helping to shape not just individual careers, but the future of our business, and the wider construction industry.
