Celebrating EO Day 2026

This month marks Employee Ownership Day 2026, an annual celebration of the growing community of employee‑owned businesses across the UK.

For Potter Raper, it’s also a moment to reflect. In May 2022, we transitioned to an Employee Ownership Trust, not because something was broken, and not because we were looking to change direction, but because we wanted to protect everything we’d spent more than 50 years building.

The culture. The people. The way we work with our clients.

Four years on, we’re proud to say that not much has changed. And that’s exactly what we hoped for.

In a sector where consolidation, acquisition and restructuring have become commonplace, we made a deliberate choice to stay independent, and to ensure that the people who drive this business every day have a real stake in its future. That independence means our clients are supported by a team that genuinely cares about the work we deliver and the relationships we build.

That commitment shows up in the everyday: in long‑standing client relationships, in colleagues who have been with the business for decades, and in a culture where people are invested in outcomes, not just outputs.

As EO Day 2026 celebrates the theme of #OwningIt, we’re proud to reflect on what employee ownership means for us, continuity, commitment and a culture built to last. It reflects the way we work every day: we Listen. Solve. Deliver.

As Managing Director Robert Humphrey says, “Employee ownership isn’t something we talk about constantly, but it underpins everything we do. It means the people working on your project have a genuine interest in getting it right, not because they’ve been told to, but because they’re part of something they own. That matters.”

On EO Day 2026, we’re not marking a transformation. We’re marking a promise kept.
