Last Thursday, our Colchester team took part in a corporate volunteering day at Highwoods Country Park with The Conservation Volunteers, a charity dedicated to connecting people and green spaces across the UK.

What We Got Up To

The team spent the day installing natural fencing beside the lake, using timber stakes and bramble sourced directly from within the park. The work helps to protect the lake’s natural habitat by creating a barrier between the visitors and local wildlife, replacing older natural barriers that had broken down naturally over time. It’s a simple, sustainable way to support the park’s natural beauty, and exactly the kind of hands-on, meaningful work that makes a volunteering day worthwhile.
