Potter Raper Partnership         fits the bill...

Equal Opportunities

Potter Raper Partnership ensures that no job applicant or employee will receive less favourable treatment on the ground of race, colour, nationality, religious beliefs, or ethnic or national origins, sex or marital status, or will be disadvantaged by any conditions or requirements which cannot be shown to be justifiable. We are committed to creating an environment that truly values honesty and the difference in people and therefore we champion equality of opportunity in all departments in our Practice.

The Partnership is committed to providing a working environment for all its staff which respects employees’ dignity and which is free from all forms of discrimination, harassment and bullying.

As part of our ‘Employee Handbook’, we have developed an ‘Action Plan Policy’ which covers all these matters in detail and helps make our ‘Equal Opportunities Policy’ effective. Above all, we aim to be an honest, reliable, flexible and a supportive employer, which welcomes employees from a broad cross-section of the community.

Our Action Plan has been developed to:-

  • Set out who is responsible for the Equal Opportunities Policy
  • State how the policy is communicated to staff , including updates to policies
  • State how often and when the policy will be monitored and by whom
  • Establish methods for monitoring and measuring progress
  • Set targets with timescales
  • Show how we advertise that we are an Equal Opportunities Employer
  • It is the duty of all employees to accept their personal responsibility for adhering to the principles of equal opportunity and maintaining good relations at work. Disciplinary action will be taken against any employee who is found to have committed an act of discrimination or bullying. Serious breaches of policy will be taken as gross misconduct.
