Mandeville Street - Clapton Park Estate

Hackney Council has recently revealed plans to transform an area comprising 10 garages, a hard-standing car park with 8 parking spaces, a low-rise storage area and a raised flowerbed into new homes. Potter Raper Partnership has been employed to act as Employer's Agent, Quantity Surveyors and Principal Designers on this scheme.

The site covers an area of 790m²​ and forms part of the Clapton Park Estate in the Kings Park ward, to the east of Hackney. The new scheme consists of a mix of eleven homes, including three-bed mews houses, and one and two-bed apartments.

The proposed mix-tenure will have five social-rent and six shared-ownership homes. The proposals include one fully accessible M4(3) wheelchair home and two accessible and adaptable M4(2) homes.

To the north of the proposed development site is the Grade II listed Mandeville Primary School. The site is adjacent to the outside play area of the school.

Clapton Park Estate is part of a restoration scheme for Hackney Council. The Council plans to build nearly 500 homes across 14 sites, with about 70 percent earmarked for social-rent or shared-ownership. Potter Raper Partnership have been employed on Mandeville Street, Pedro Street and Daubeney Road, all of which fall under this restoration scheme for Clapton Park Estate.
