Potter Raper Partnership         fits the bill...

Fort Pitt

The new science building for Fort Pitt Girls Grammar School in Chatham is now underway and we are pleased with the progress.

The new science building will provide chemistry, physics and biology facilities, as well as additional prep rooms and staff bases. The works also include the regeneration of external spaces. All of the works are being carried out whilst the school is occupied.

The school site is considered to be of important historic relevance, so the planning and execution of the works needed to be carefully considered.

Despite a number of trial pits and surveys, the remains of air raid shelters and underground tunnels were discovered during the construction phase within the building footprint. We advised the Client to retain provisional allowances to cover such discoveries.

Potter Raper Partnership has been appointed as the Quantity Surveyors and Health, Safety and Environmental Consultants on this scheme, working alongside the Client, FPTA Academies.

Potter Raper Partnership is committed to their employees, the local community and sustaining the local environment. In our CSR policy we aim to illustrate the areas of business that we target in order to maximise our employee satisfaction, limit the effect we have on the environment and enhance the local environment by providing services and funding for the community. We believe that by taking a greater responsibility for the effect we have on the environment and ensuring that we work in a manner that takes the local community into consideration, we will actively reduce the impact we, our clients and suppliers have on our surroundings.
