Potter Raper Partnership         fits the bill...

UCL Christopher Ingold

Following a review of the poor-performing and dilapidated existing single-glazed aluminium windows, Potter Raper Partnership were commissioned by University College London to provide professional services in the replacement of all 503 of the windows to the Christopher Ingold Building.

The building was occupied throughout the duration of the works. The majority of the project was carried out in term-time, therefore it was crucial that the activities of the building users were not disturbed.

The windows were upgraded to a thermally-efficient aluminium double-glazed system, with solar-reflective properties. In addition to the window replacement, façade cleaning and concrete repairs were carried out to the staircase enclosures and exterior concrete panels.

The project was completed within budget and we received positive feedback from the UCL Estates department and building users. The head of the department quoted the project as ‘An excellent example of a high-end UCL strategic maintenance project’.
