Education

We have extensive, detailed experience of providing services to the education sector. Working with nurseries, primary schools, secondary schools and further education providers, we have a broad range of Clients in this field.

A significant part of our workload is made up of education projects and we have worked on various projects from single classroom extensions through to complete new schools. Our work in connection with the London Borough of Haringey 'Building Schools for the Future' programme has provided invaluable experience of managing large programmes of work.

We are working for University College London, London South Bank and Essex University and Imperial College London as Quantity Surveyors, Building Surveyors, Project Managers, Employer's Agent and Health, Safety and Environmental services (including Principal Designer role).

We have experience of complex laboratories, student halls, libraries, lecture theatres and support areas.

Harold Wood
HAROLD WOOD PRIMARY SCHOOL
Refurbishment and new build to create 7 new teaching spaces, group spaces and extension of existing Hall.
Library and Student Centre
LIBRARY & STUDENT CENTRE
The project comprises of a 2,664m² extension to the existing Library and a 3,669m² new-build Student Centre.
St Josephs RC Primary School
ST JOSEPH'S RC PRIMARY SCHOOL
This project consisted of a contemporary-designed new extension which incorporated a green roof.
Arden House
ARDEN HOUSE
The project was a conversion of a two-storey house in Barking, which was the former Registry Office, into two childcare nurseries and daycare centre.
St Paul's Way Trust School Expansion
ST PAUL'S WAY TRUST SCHOOL EXPANSION
Demolition of existing accommodation blocks, and design and construction of a new 7-storey apartment block containing school facilities at ground level, additional classroom blocks, a Mosque, indoor/outdoor facilities and ancillary services, parking and access roads.
Manor Infants and Junior School
MANOR INFANTS AND JUNIOR SCHOOL
Provision of a new classroom block to connect the 2 existing schools to create an additional form entry and to combine the existing Infants and Junior school provision. The works included a new toilet block, hall and office areas.
Merryhills Primary
MERRYHILLS PRIMARY SCHOOL
Provision of new accommodation to provide additional teaching and non-teaching facilities for a three form entry school and to carry out improvements and alterations to the existing grounds to facilitate increased school numbers.
Churchfield Primary School
CHURCHFIELD PRIMARY SCHOOL
The provision of new accommodation to provide additional teaching and non-teaching facilities for a three form entry school.
Alexandra Park School (BSF)
ALEXANDRA PARK SCHOOL (BSF)
The scheme involved the construction of a new Sixth Form and Teacher Training block, refurbishment and remodelling of existing areas including classrooms and circulation spaces is also required.
Leventhorpe
LEVENTHORPE SCHOOL
The new-build construction of a sports hall including gym, dance studio, classrooms and changing facilities, together with a floodlit all-weather pitch, tennis courts and associated drainage, external work and mechanical and electrical services.
St Vincents Primary School
ST VINCENT'S PRIMARY SCHOOL
The Client, London Borough of Westminster, gained planning permission for the conversion of an existing rooftop area into playarea facilities. This consisted of perimeter fencing and ball catch netting.
The Grange Primary School
THE GRANGE PRIMARY SCHOOL
The project comprised the demolition of the existing Infants School and the provision of a new two-storey extension with associated remodelling together with a wheelchair lift within the existing building.
Notley 6th Form College
NOTLEY 6TH FORM COLLEGE
Construction of new 6th Form College, together with associated drainage, external works and mechanical and electrical services.
Beam School
IFOR EVANS CLUBHOUSE
The internal adaption and refurbishment of existing student union bar area into new reception facility. The scheme provided the formation of a new office for staff together with manager's office the provision of new a reception counter/screen and a new post room.
Lower Refectory and Wilkins Terrace
LOWER REFECTORY AND WILKINS TERRACE
This project transforms the Physics Yard (an unsightly, utilitarian space which houses a substation, a rubbish compactor and is used for servicing vehicles) into a much needed external amenity, events and external learning space.
RSM 1302 G11 Conversion
RSM 1302 G11 CONVERSION
The project proposal was to deliver a Chemical Laboratory and new student computer room for the Department of Materials.
Make Space
MAKE SPACE
The Make Space is the workshop of the Institute of Making, offering an exciting range of tools and machinery for students and staff of UCL to make, break and repair everything from jewellery to robots.
John Dodgson
JOHN DODGSON HOUSE
The scheme, designed by Levitt Bernstein, involved a rooftop extension to create two additional floors. The scheme required an offset additional steel frame inserted through the building and all the additional making good this entailed.
Paul O'Gorman Building (BLIC)

To extend the existing building in matching construction to form an infill room at 6th floor level, fully fitted-out and provision of services to suit.
Executive Suite
EXECUTIVE SUITE
The works involved the alterations to existing cellular office area to create a mixture of open-plan office space and cellular office space.
Max Rayne - Student Residences
MAX RAYNE - STUDENT RESIDENCES
The project comprised the strip-out and refurbishment of 30 Nr bathrooms, with new mechanical and electrical services including a BMS system and renovation of 28 Nr kitchens.
McLaren House Social Spaces
MCLAREN HOUSE SOCIAL SPACES
Modernisation of the existing reception at the McLaren House halls of residence, including the conversion of a defunct ground floor common room into a café with vending wall.
